5 Instagram Content Ideas for Music Producers
If you don't know what kind of content to create to grow your following and keep your audience engaged on Instagram, you’re in luck. We've already stressed the importance of consistency and posting content in order to grow an audience on Instagram, but here are a few specific types of content you can start creating to boost engagement:
1. Snippets/previews of your work
You may already be sharing these with your audience, but refrain from posting videos of your computer screen or a play button when you're playing a track. It’s boring and doesn’t engage the viewer at all. Instead, create graphics/artwork to pair with clips of your music. This not only keeps your page looking interesting, but it also keeps people curious about what you have on the horizon in the future.
2. Behind the scenes
Behind the scenes of your creative process can be showcased through your stories as well as on your main feed. People love to see the process of an idea getting from point A to B in regards to your music. Not only is it interesting and inspiring for people to watch, but it also makes them feel more connected to the music that you will eventually be releasing. Additionally, breaking down how you created a beat or how you took a sample and flipped it into what it is now, can be educational for other producers.
3. Collabs
Two minds are better than one! You and someone else you know could collaborate on music in some capacity. This can be interesting to your audience because it puts a different face on your feed. It also allows you to expose that other person to your audience and vice versa.
4. Vlogging
Show your audience a day in the life of you as a person. What are you interested in outside of music production? What else are you passionate about? It could be hanging out with your friends and family, going to concerts, attending networking events, etc. People like to see what you do outside of just making music because it humanizes you, allowing them to build a deeper connection with you.
5. Quick tips
Create quick tips to help your target audience. This could be production tips, recording tips, vocal tips, etc. By giving your audience helpful tips for free, you’re giving them value for following your Instagram page. As a result, this will attract more followers (potential customers!) that are interested in what you have to offer.
