How to Search For Beats on Airbit

Maybe you’re an artist looking for a beat for a new track. Or you’re a film maker looking for a beat to use in a score. From hip hop to EDM, trap to jazz, the Airbit Marketplace has every sound you might need. That can be a lot to sort through, which is why we’ve created the most comprehensive search tools in the industry. Searching for beats on Airbit.com is really easy to do, and there are a few different ways to go about it, so let’s take a look.

Search

If you already know what you’re looking for, you can head to airbit.com and run a search by typing in the search bar.

If you’re looking for a certain sound you can search for “type beats.” If we look for some “Travis Scott type beats”, you’ll see a list of beats that have been tagged this way.

You can narrow down your search even more by clicking the hashtags that appear. Or you can click ‘view all’ to see the full list of results, then filter those based on genre, mood, BPM and how recent they are.

If you’re looking for beats from a specific producer you can search their name, for example Tone Jonez,then you can view their Marketplace store by clicking their producer avatar, or clicking their name under the beat.

Search by Sound

Brand new to Airbit–and the beat selling industry–is Search by Sound. This is a revolutionary way to search for beats, only available on Airbit. Here you can grab a YouTube, Vimeo, or Soundcloud link, and find any beats that sound similar to your chosen instrumental–taking “type beats” to a whole new level. This is the most accurate way to find the sound you’re looking for, as the results are based on the music you provide as the reference.

You can also click on the ‘Find Similar’ button, next to any beat on the marketplace, to find beats that sound the same as the one you’re listening to, which will again use Search by Sound to find similar sounding beats.

Explore Page

What if you don’t know what you’re looking for? Our Explore page has got you covered.

The Explore page is where you’ll find all the current and top beats on Airbit, containing a list of top-charting producers and beats, as well as the producer of the week, Spotlight, and latest releases. This is a great place to start if you don’t know what kind of sound you’re after. You can preview any and all tracks until you land on the perfect one.

Filters

If you already have a rough idea of what you want, you can head to the Browse page and use our filters to bring up a list of beats for you to browse through. For example, if you want a smooth beat, you can set that filter to pull up a list of smooth beats.

But let’s say that that’s still too broad for you, you can get more specific. For example, you can add your chosen tempo, and add R&B as a filter. And if you only want recent results, you can set a filter to beats uploaded in the last 30 days. Now you’ll have a list of smooth R&B beats, between 121 & 140bpm, that’ve only been released in the last 30 days. That way, you can really narrow it down and find exactly what you’re looking for.

Add to Cart

Once you find a beat you like, you can click into it for more details on pricing, licensing, etc. You can view the basic license terms, and add it to your cart.

Free Downloads

Now, if you’re not ready to buy a beat, but want to take a beat offline to work with (maybe you want to write lyrics to it, or see if it works well as background music to your video, etc.), you can download beats for free. There are a couple of ways to do this–you can either select ‘Free Beats’ in the dropdown menu under ‘Beats’, or check the ‘Free Download’ box in the filter settings.

Note that these beats all have a green download icon, and even if you uncheck the Free Download box, you’ll see they do still show in the results, among the paid beats.

So now if we click the download button, you’ll see a pop-up telling you that you’ll either be subscribed to the producer’s mailing list, their YouTube channel, or follow them on Twitter, depending on which option they’ve chosen. Just like buying beats, free downloads will come with a license agreement, which will detail how you can use the beat.
